Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about pressure washing in Fayetteville, NC — answered honestly. If you don't see what you're looking for, just call us.
General Questions
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Max Pressure is fully licensed and insured for residential and commercial work in North Carolina. We can provide a certificate of insurance on request — commercial clients often need this, and we're happy to send it over.
Do I need to be home during the service?
Not necessarily. Most jobs just need access to an outdoor water spigot and any notes about areas to focus on or avoid. We'll text or call when the job is complete and do a walkthrough if you're around. If you have gate codes or specific access instructions, just let us know when you book.
How do I get a quote?
Fill out the quote form on our website or call us directly at (910) 605-2161. For most residential jobs we can give a solid estimate based on a quick description and photo. Larger or more complex commercial jobs usually benefit from a brief on-site visit so we can scope it accurately.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We typically schedule residential jobs 3–7 days out depending on the time of year. Spring is our busiest season — if you want to get on the schedule in March or April, earlier is better. For commercial accounts or larger jobs, give us at least a week or two.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Fayetteville and serve Cumberland County and surrounding areas including Hope Mills, Spring Lake, Raeford, Eastover, Linden, Wade, Stedman, St. Pauls, and further. Not sure if we cover your area? Just ask — we'll tell you honestly.
House Washing
House Washing service page →What's the difference between pressure washing and soft washing a house?
Soft washing uses low-pressure water plus professional cleaning solutions to kill and remove mold, algae, and mildew. It's gentler on siding than high-pressure washing, which can force water behind panels and damage caulking. For residential siding — vinyl, wood, hardiplank, brick — soft washing is almost always the right approach. We soft wash all residential exteriors.
How much does house washing cost?
Most single-story homes in the Fayetteville area run $200–$350. Two-story or larger homes typically run $350–$600+. The main variables are size, siding type, and how much organic growth is present. We give free estimates so you know the exact price before we start.
How often should I wash my house exterior in North Carolina?
Every 1–2 years is the general recommendation for NC's climate. The combination of heat, humidity, and rainfall makes mold and algae grow faster here than in drier states. Homes under heavy tree cover or in low-lying areas may need annual attention. You'll usually start noticing the green tint on north-facing walls first.
Driveway & Concrete Cleaning
Driveway Cleaning service page →Can you get oil stains out of concrete?
In most cases, significantly yes. We use hot water and professional degreaser pre-treatment to break down the oil before pressure washing. Very old or deeply embedded stains may not disappear entirely, but the improvement is usually dramatic. We'll give you an honest assessment before we start rather than overpromising.
Will pressure washing crack or damage my concrete?
Not when done correctly with the right equipment. We use surface cleaning attachments that deliver even, consistent pressure rather than a concentrated wand. If we notice cracking or spalling before we start, we'll point it out so you're aware. Concrete that's already deteriorating can be more sensitive to pressure.
How much does driveway cleaning cost?
A standard two-car residential driveway typically runs $150–$200. Larger driveways, brick pavers, or heavy staining with required degreaser treatment may run $200–$300+. We provide free estimates — reach out and we'll give you a specific number based on your driveway.
Deck & Fence Cleaning
Fence & Deck Cleaning service page →What's that black streaking on my wood deck or fence?
Almost always mold or mildew — very common on wood surfaces in North Carolina's humid climate, especially on north-facing or shaded sides. Our cleaning solution kills the organism at the root, not just rinses the surface, so results last longer. Heavily weathered, gray wood often brightens noticeably as well.
Can you clean a composite deck without damaging it?
Yes. Composite decking — Trex, TimberTech, and similar — is cleaned with low-pressure soft washing and appropriate solutions. Composite manufacturers generally recommend against high-pressure washing, which is exactly what we avoid. We've cleaned composite decks without issue.
Should I clean my deck before staining it?
Always. Stain applied over mold, mildew, or gray weathering will bond to the surface contaminants instead of the wood, and it will peel or fade early. A proper cleaning opens the wood pores and gives the stain something to grip. We usually recommend waiting 48–72 hours after cleaning before applying any stain or sealer.
Deck Staining & Sealing
Deck Staining & Sealing service page →How long does deck stain last in Fayetteville's climate?
A quality semi-transparent stain typically lasts 2–4 years here. Fayetteville gets significant UV exposure and humidity — both of which wear down stain faster than in drier climates. Solid stains last longer (3–5 years) but are harder to recoat without stripping. We'll help you choose the right product for your situation.
My deck boards have gone gray — can they be stained?
In most cases yes. Gray weathering is surface oxidation, and we can often reverse it with a wood brightener applied during the cleaning step. This restores the wood's pH and opens the pores back up. Very neglected decks may also need light sanding, which we assess case by case.
Commercial Services
Commercial Services page →Do you offer recurring commercial cleaning contracts?
Yes. Many of our commercial clients schedule quarterly or semi-annual cleanings. We set up a schedule, prioritize your property on the calendar, and reach out proactively when it's time. It's less hassle for you and keeps the property consistently looking clean.
Can you work around our operating hours?
Yes. We can schedule early mornings, evenings, or weekends to minimize disruption to your customers and operations. For restaurants or retail, we typically try to schedule before opening or after closing. Just let us know what works.
Do you provide a certificate of insurance for commercial work?
Yes — we carry general liability insurance and can provide a COI on request. Most facility managers and property managers need this, and we're set up to handle it without any runaround.
